In the heart of Alfama, the most typical district of Lisbon, next to the Cathedral and the São Jorge Castle, the boutique hotel Memmo Alfama contrasts with the city’s historic area featuring a modern architecture and contemporary style, overlooking the Tagus River and Alfama itself.

Perfectly integrated in the surroundings, the hotel is a hidden treasure to be discovered through the narrow streets of the old town. Designed by the Portuguese architects Samuel Torres de Carvalho and João Corrêa Nunes, the main architectural goal was to maintain the original facades of a building from the late nineteenth century, and bring a contemporary face combining simplicity and creativity.

All rooms combine minimal design with a laid-back atmosphere, filled with high quality Portuguese products, from the amenities to the menus and wines, giving to its guests a feel like home mood and a spirit of a Portuguese house.

The name Memmo means memory and this concept reflects in everything around you: from the flavors of the great breakfast, smells of the location and sounds of the Portuguese music playing around.

The hotel boasts 42 rooms, a wine bar and a red pool on the terrace, all of them with a stunning view of the Tagus River, the houses of Alfama and the inner flower-filled patio.
