eet The Butcher’s Daughter, the vegetable slaughterhouse. The vegetarian and vegan eatery, juice bar and café is opening their second flagship restaurant on Los Angeles’ Abbott Kinney Boulevard.
Sarah Meyer Simon, who partnered on the brand’s first NYC location in 2012, says “The Butcher’s Daughter promotes a certain lifestyle, and (the Venice location) embodies that lifestyle daily.” The 3,200-square-foot café and juice bar was envisioned and designed by founder and creative director Heather Tierney.
With hints of a traditional butcher shop, the space includes industrial elements, offset by a lavish and eclectic decor. The intimate space is defined by the original selection of furniture, lifestyle items and fresh color palette which ooze timelessness and charm.
The vast space includes a 50 foot communal dining area, an espresso bar, a vegetable butcher raw bar and a California lifestyle artisanal market area that sells yoga mats, surfboards, beauty products, wine, pressed juice and other household goods. With a daily menu featuring the best of locally sourced and nutrient-dense ingredient, the increasingly health-conscious demographic of Venice can rely on The Butcher’s Daughter to prepare fresh produce with as much care and attention as a butcher would dedicate to meat. One might also want to (re)experience some of New York’s most popular dishes, including the spicy kale Caesar, the smashed avocado toast and the butcher’s burger.
Right now, the healthy hotspot is only serving breakfast; lunch and dinner service will be available within the next few weeks. Tierney and Simon are spreading their brand’s healthy vibes and expanding quickly. Expect a Butcher’s Daughter juice truck cruising the streets west of the 405 freeway. The two partners also opened a private guesthouse, Bungalow + Breakfast, in a three-bedroom Venice Canal cottage. Finally, some good news for New Yorkers, a West Village location is opening later this year.
