Be open to all the possibilities.
Meditation before I leave and when I arrive so I can be present in what ever my travels have to offer.
I LOVE TRAVELING BECAUSE…
I feel there is apart of me everywhere in this world and traveling allows me to rediscover parts of me I never knew existed. There is so much beauty and color in the unknown and I like chasing it.
How did this trip come together?
My boyfriend has been living out here for a few months working on a project, so I took two weeks off and we met up to explore the Island.
Best form of transportation?
Direct Flight from LAX-OGG Hawaiin Airlines and rent a car.
Highlights and favorite things?
Paia Fish Market is an absolute must.
Nuka for the freshest sushi you can have.
Little Beach in Maui.
Under the radar must-see or do?
I have sworn to protect the hidden gems but I would however, indulge your sense and drive the entire island. It’s about eight hours but worth every second. Be careful though, there are some very dangerous roads and if you are not with a local I would not do too much off-road exploring. Maui can still be dangerous.
I went to a boat blessing ceremony and took a Beetle Nut. It has a strong distinct taste, like you are eating a pungent bitter and it turns your entire mouth red and makes you salivate so there is a lot of spitting involved. Your body starts to heat up and it gives you a high for about 15 minutes.
Did you encounter any challenges leading up to or during the trip?
Very easy to get in and out of but don’t think about bringing a pet, it’s not easy and they will need to be quarantined.
Three words that sum up your experience.
Zen, adventurous, romantic.
Looking back, what do you miss the most?
The lush green that surrounds you, the beautiful beaches and the rainbow that appears every afternoon.
Be respectful to the locals and abide by signs. And make sure to eat at The fish market in Paia.
DESCRIBE YOUR INSTAGRAM PHOTOGRAPHY AESTHETIC
When capturing a photo, I look at angles, colors, patterns and points of interest. I like to keep the feel very cinematic and as organic as possible, trying to capture a mood and story rather then just a photo.
Lighting is everything.
Lola Langusta’s Instagram handle is a cinematic and extremely tasteful collection of portraits taken along her nomadic journey by her partner Caleb Wing. An artist and pure spirit this modern wanderer really captures an authentic feeling we can rarely associate with Instagram.
