A 17th Century Resort in Rajasthan
Rawla Narlai

Nestled in the heart of Aravalli Hills in Rajasthan, India, lies the beautiful heritage resort of Rawla Narlai. Dating back to the 17th century, it is owned by the Jodhpur family who once used it as a hunting lodge.

Today though, following extensive renovations, it has been transformed into a charming and stylish world-class boutique hotel. Located between Jodhpur and Udaipur in the heart of a Rajasthani village, the Rawla Narlai resort sits at the foot of a large granite rock, surrounded by endless countryside, forested hills and rocky outcrops.

One of the things that makes this hotel so special is the meticulous restoration that the building underwent. Much of its Rajasthani character and features were maintained, which in turn inspired the design of the interiors of its thirty-two different guest rooms.

Each room is unique and features traditional luxurious furnishings and textiles. From the colorful Classic Heritage Rooms with their lavish blend of hand block printed linen and vintage furnishings, to the Luxury Grand Heritage Rooms with stunning ornate white marble work, and the luxury garden tents that sit outside by a pretty pool, they do not disappoint.

As you would expect, the hotel also boasts a stunning restaurant complete with outdoor courtyards for dining under the stars. If you fancy something really special, private dining can be arranged.

If you can manage to tear yourself away from the Rawla Narlai there is plenty to do in the area, from visiting local Jain temples to a train safari. The best time to visit Rajasthan is October to March so this makes a perfect winter getaway.
